Mikalee Byerman (which rhymes with “prickly fireman,” though do note she’s neither grumpy nor adept at fire suppression) is a former CMO and VP of Strategy and a current leadership consultant, humor strategist and Erma Bombeck-ish writer. She channels her C-suite background to teach others how to fix their serious business problems — as in, how to sparkle their marketing, spark creativity at work and tap into their genuinely delightful business selves — with the help of a pair of underleveraged power tools called humor and humanity. Mikalee is a humor essayist, travel writer and keynote speaker. She has authored two books, with the second edition of “100 Things to Do in Reno Before You Die” hitting literal and figurative bookshelves last fall, and her writing has been featured in Ladies’ Home Journal, Southwest Spirit Magazine and Alaska Airlines Magazine, as well as on the Huffington Post. She was voted “Best Local Author” in the 2023 Best of Nevada awards — a title she has held multiple times — previously being voted “Best Creative Writer” as well.
